Report on the case of Mr. Herbert C. Sayer, Temporary
Assistant Engineer, Public Works Department.
Kr. Sayer was admitted to the Civil Hospital on the 22nd. July with a history of having contracted a severe chill after play- -ing water polo on the luth. He was very ill with fever (103) and great pain in the right side and was found to be suffering from inflammation of the right lung.
His condition grew steadily worse and the following day the right lung was solid up to the angle of the scapula, his temperature ranged between 103 and 104 with a pulse rate of 84 and respirations 32.
On the 25th. the left lung became involved, the fever continued with an increasing pulse (128) and respiration rate (60) and a steadily increasing delirium though he could be roused and knew his parents who were in constant attendance.
The condition grew rapidly worse and throughout the
27th. he became steadily wenker, became unconscious and died at
6.50 a.a. on the 26th.
